“Dancing is about connections … to our friends, to our families, to our neighbors. It is one of the most expressive ways we celebrate and communicate our cultures and communities. With Dancing Classrooms, we are able to reach children in existing classroom settings and address fundamental issues of mutual respect and self-esteem – issues that social dance puts into practice. We hope to inspire children through dance to do well, to respect one another, to be proud. This program is about more than dance, it is about teaching children to take a bow.” - Pierre Dulaine & Yvonne Marceau

BREAK Dance is a new virtual "brain break" curriculum that's been developed in response to educators' requests for short "brain breaks" that'll allow students to stand and physically move their bodies in an organized manner (100% of respondents requested due to pandemic-related guidelines).

This is a project of Dancing Classrooms Northeast Ohio (DCNEO). All our Social Emotional Learning Goals and Core Values (belonging, respect, hope and trust) have been incorporated into this new medium.

This is not a replacement of our signature Dancing Classrooms program but rather a bridge to the time when we can again physically connect in a safe manner.
